This afternoon Red-Tail Land Conservancy led a group of volunteers throughout Munsee Woods Nature Preserve. The group was taught about land conservation and how important seemingly small things are to our ecosystem. Student volunteers from Ball State University housing spent their afternoon doing clean-up and structure removal at the the Munsee Woods nature preserve on Saturday, April 9, 2022. According to the Red Tail Conservancy, the land there is undergoing restoration practices including the planting of hundreds of trees, ephemeral wetland preservation and culling of invasive plants. In addition to the volunteer labor, staff from the Red-tail Land Conservancy brought the volunteers on a walk through the nature preserve and pointed out unique features of the 47 acre preserve and the reforestation project there.
