Scouting for food

Members of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 22, Muncie, IN, were busy conducting their annual “Scouting for Food” drive. On a rainy Saturday morning they were picking up donations at homes where they dropped off bags the previous week, retrieving the canned/non perishable food. All collected food will be distributed to local food banks and pantries to help families in need. Scouting for Food is a national Boy Scouts of America initiative, with local councils organizing drives to combat food insecurity in their communities. The program encourages Scouts to demonstrate helpfulness and community service by collecting food for those in need. Troop 22 is known as “The Outdoors Troop” and typically meets at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, but this drive was operating from Center Chapel United Methodist Church for this event.
