Muncie Civic Theatre Presents Hello, Dolly!

The final rehearsals for Hello, Dolly! at the Muncie Civic Theatre. This show is made up of local volunteers in the community. Rehearsals typically begin with vocal and routine warm-ups, preparing the actors for numerous songs and dances throughout the musical. After warm-ups, actors begin to practice their timing and work with their director, Dr. Michael O’Hara, on details to improve. While most of the spectacle occurs onstage, these photos also portray the behind-the-scenes work of the crew to produce a quality show. Actors work together both in and out of costume on blocking and dancing, preparing for their upcoming ten-show run. Whether the director is making last-minute changes to cues or the music director, Sally Kelley, needs to fix vocals on a song, capturing the interactions between the cast, crew, band, and directors gives an insightful look at how the show comes to life. Finally, everyone comes together to do a full run of the show in costume. You can go see the show from April 10-26. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday shows are at 7:30pm, and the Sunday matinees are at 2:30pm. (Photos by Branden Woods; video by Heather Parker)
